The Alpin Peaks is located in the middle of the Carinthian Nockberge. The Nockberge are among the oldest mountain regions in Carinthia. The gentle peaks covered with alpine grass give the region a very special charm.
The UNESCO-awarded and unique biosphere bark is a central highlight of the Gurktal Alps.
Winter wonderland
The region, in particular the Turracherhöhe, is known for its guaranteed snow. Perfectly groomed and natural deep snow slopes conjure up a smile on every skier’s or snowboarder’s face. A perfect paradise for winter and snow enthusiasts. Skiing, cross-country skiing, touring, snowshoeing, or sleighing is possible in the immediate vicinity. If you don’t have any equipment yourself, you can easily borrow the equipment you want from the local ski rental shop.
Biking
For those who prefer action on 2 wheels, there are many bike trails around the Turracherhöhe. Combine a mountain bike adventure with a visit to the Nocky-Flizer. Fun for the whole family is pre-programmed. For the very young among us, there is the Kornock Kids and practice area. Children can safely gain their first experiences with the bike there or shred independently on the exciting pump track.

Lakes
3 mountain lake jewels are within a few kilometers from our hotel. How about a relaxing sunset hike? The Grünsee in particular invites you to linger and relax. With a picnic, this would be a wonderful destination for the whole family. Enjoy the intense turquoise-green color of the lake and the fresh air of the surrounding stone pine trees.
Hiking & Attractions
The region’s gentle hilltops attract hiking fans from all regions and countries. On exciting hiking routes, you can experience the largest continuous pine forests in Austria. Many family-friendly hikes are possible from the Turrach Plateau. Due to their moderate gradients, they are a wonderful experience for the whole family. If you are looking for the fastest way down, there is the alpine roller coaster called Nocky Flitzer. Children and the young at heart get their money’s worth here. On a total distance of 1.6 km and 185 meters in altitude, you will experience an ultimate thrill.
